Our favourite global travel competition is set to return to our TV screens very soon, with a new star-studded line up!

After last year’s thrilling first season of Celebrity Race Across the World – where duos raced from Morocco to Norway – the series is now returning for its second instalment.

For those who don’t yet know the show concept, four famous faces will be joined by a friend or family member to create a team of two. In Celebrity Race Across the World, there are only four teams, compared to the original series which begins with five.

The race is divided into several stages, with each stage requiring the team to race from one destination to another to reach a required checkpoint. The catch? They don’t have the luxury of smartphones, bank cards or internet access. They must rely on a very limited budget, map-reading skills, and usually, the kindness of strangers.

As well as a nail-biting race keeping us glued to our screens, the series is well-known for giving viewers an insight to the contestant’s lives, as they learn more about themselves and their loved ones on this fun yet notoriously gruelling adventure. Of course, it also teaches us about some incredible places around the world, introducing us to little-known cultures and natural landscapes.

And this series is set to be one of the most exciting yet. Read on to find out who is taking part, where the teams are racing, and more importantly – when does it start!

Who is taking part in Celebrity Race Across the World Series 2?

There are four celebrities taking part in Race Across the World Series 2. Each one will be joined by a partner to make up their team of two.

Broadcaster Jeff Brazier – who rose to fame on reality show Shipwrecked in 2001 but has since presented on shows such as I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! NOW! And This Morning – is joined by his son Freddy Brazier.

Radio broadcaster Scott Mills, a BBC Radio 2 host, is paired up with his fiancé (now husband), Sam Vaughan.

Also racing with her husband Jeremy Parasi is model, actress and TV personality Kelly Brook, the only female celebrity of the series.

And last but not least, actor Kola Bokinni, best known for his role in hit Apple TV series Ted Lasso, is racing with cousin Mary Ellen.

Where are the celebrities and their partners racing?

This series, the teams will be taking on an epic 12,500km race across South America, travelling from the northern Amazon to the southern part of the Andes

They will all set off from the port city of Belém, northern Brazil, considered the gateway to the Amazon rainforest.

The duos will be required to pass through five checkpoints, travelling the entire length of the continent before reaching the finish line in Frutillar, a city in the Chilean Lake District. The question is, who will get there first?
